On our way home I took a detour to stop at Delaware Seashore State Park. In season, the parking lot is open and charges $5 per day for (instate cars) and $10 per day for (out of state cars) personally think it should be the same They allow tent camping here, each plot has a picnic table. Pitch a tent and take the short walk to the beach!

Delaware Seashore State Park offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and Rehoboth and Indian River Bays to the west. the campground is located beside the iconic Indian River Inlet Bridge, only a short walk from the beach. Be sure to visit the Indian River Life-Saving Station, a historic station built in 1876 for use by the United States Lifesaving Service to respond to the alarming number of shipwrecks along the coast.

The campground has 151 RV sites, 94 standard campsites without hook-ups; and 37 tent camping only sites. Amenities include:

Popular spot among locals and visitors alike. The waves break a bit further out (not common on the Delaware shore), so this tends to be a great location if you're looking for easygoing waves near Bethany, Dewey, Fenwick, or Rehoboth.

The Delaware Seashore State Park is one of the state’s most popular travel destinations. The park offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and Rehoboth and Indian River Bays to the west. Set up camp beside the iconic Indian River Inlet Bridge, only a short walk from the beach. The Indian River Marina is a full-service marina offering charter boat experiences and excellent fishing opportunities.

During your stay, be sure to visit the Indian River Life-Saving Station, a historic station built in 1876 for use by the United States Lifesaving Service to respond to the alarming number of shipwrecks along the coast. Today, the Life-Saving Station has been restored to its 1905 appearance, doubles as the park’s visitor center, and offers tours and year-round programming.

The Park has campgrounds on the north and south side of the Inlet. The north inlet campground has 88 full hook-up RV campsites. The south inlet campground has 151 full hooks up sites, 86 campsites without hook-ups, and 33 tent only camping sites. With excellent fishing spots, pristine beaches, and more, Delaware Seashore is a perfect destination for a seaside getaway.

Surfing & Swimming

There are two ocean swimming areas located on the North Side of the Inlet as well as the South side. North Side has been historically known for being a great surf spot. Both beaches offer Mobi-Mat equipment that allow wheelchairs and power chairs to access the beach. Being located at the Southside, the State Parks offer a modern bath house consisting of showers, bathrooms, and changing areas.

Camping

Within the Delaware Seashore State park there are two campgrounds, the North and Southside. The campsites connect with the Indian River Inlet Bridge that includes a separate walking/ bike path. The campsite itself accommodates all types of campers from tents to RV’s all within walking distance of the beach and marina.

Indian River Marina

The Indian River Marina is a full service marina that feature head boats and charter boats. Take a 1/2 or full day charter trip & discover what it’s like to reel in the catch of the day! Fishermen may also enjoy surf fishing from our beaches in designated drive on areas (permits required).

Indian River Lifesaving Station

Be sure to visit the historic Life Saving Station, built in 1876 and used by the United States Lifesaving Service. The fully restored building includes a gift shop which features coastal and maritime souvenirs. Make sure to check out the maritime exhibits and occasional historic reenactments.
